Meeting at UPITS 2026 and New Opportunities for Cooperation in the Railway Industry
In September 2026, the PROTAL LOGISTICA INTERNATIONAL team participated in the UP International Trade Show (UPITS 2026) in Greater Noida, India. One of the most promising outcomes of the exhibition was our introduction to COACHTECH, an Indian manufacturer specializing in high-precision metal structures and components for the railway industry.
For PROTAL, participation in international trade exhibitions is first and foremost an opportunity to identify manufacturers, engineering expertise and technologies that can form the foundation of new international projects. This is exactly how we view our meeting with COACHTECH.
COACHTECH — Indian Expertise in Railway Manufacturing
COACHTECH was established in 2018 with a focus on manufacturing stainless-steel components for LHB passenger coaches used by Indian Railways. Today, the company manufactures large and high-precision elements of railway carriage structures, including side walls, roofs, end walls and frames.
Its approximately 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh, India, provides a comprehensive range of sheet-metal processing capabilities, including engineering and design, laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, bending, manual and robotic welding, metal fabrication and surface treatment.
COACHTECH also provides contract manufacturing services for OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
Of particular interest for international projects is the company’s experience in the railway sector. COACHTECH states that it supplies approximately 400 sets of coach structures per year to Indian Railways. Its manufacturing processes are supported by certifications including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 3834-2 and EN 15085-2, the latter specifically related to the welding of railway vehicles and components.
From a Meeting at UPITS to International Cooperation
The meeting between representatives of PROTAL and COACHTECH at UPITS 2026 became the starting point for discussions on potential areas of cooperation.
PROTAL LOGISTICA INTERNATIONAL is actively developing its network of manufacturing and engineering partners in India and sees strong potential in combining COACHTECH’s production capabilities with PROTAL’s expertise in international industrial procurement, project supply and logistics.
As part of the planned cooperation, the parties are exploring opportunities to introduce COACHTECH’s manufacturing capabilities and solutions to international markets, particularly for projects in Europe and other regions where PROTAL operates, as well as cooperation on specific requirements from railway and heavy-industry customers.
Another promising area is contract manufacturing of components and metal structures according to customer technical documentation. COACHTECH’s capabilities in 3D modelling, engineering drawings, tooling development, CNC processing and complex welded structures make the company a potential manufacturing partner not only for standard products but also for customized industrial projects.
India as Part of PROTAL’s International Partnership Network
For PROTAL, participation in UPITS 2026 was part of a broader strategy to establish direct relationships with Indian manufacturers.
We believe that international industrial cooperation today is about much more than finding a supplier for a particular product. It is about identifying reliable manufacturing partners capable of understanding a customer’s technical requirements, maintaining quality standards and adapting their production capabilities to international projects.
For this reason, we see our meeting with COACHTECH not simply as another contact established during a trade show, but as the beginning of a dialogue with the potential to develop into a long-term partnership.
The next step is to move from the initial introduction to the development of concrete projects and cooperation opportunities connecting India, Spain and PROTAL’s international markets.
